How to Win Grants and Scholarships in 2026
Most people fail because of their paperwork, not their potential. Before you hit apply, follow these three steps to boost your success rate.
- The Documentation Audit: Ensure your CAC registration, Tax ID (TIN), and bank statements are organized and clear. Many of these grants will disqualify you in the first round if these are missing.
- The Specificity Test: Instead of saying you need money to “scale,” explain exactly how the money will be used. Will it buy a machine? Will it hire three new staff? Specificity builds trust with donors.
- The Early Submission Rule: Portals in Nigeria often experience high traffic or technical issues on the final day. Aim to submit your application at least five days before the closing date.
Opportunities do not disappear. They simply go to the people who were ready for them.
